I would love to believe you are right, but this is the history of Virginia Tech (with a very few notable exceptions). What is more likely is that we either don't get in (even I don't believe that at this point) or that we get in and lose a heartbreaker at the buzzer. In the following six months, Whit Babcock leaves to become the AD at Ohio State and takes Buzz Williams as his new basketball coach. We hire Jim Weaver's son as AD and Ricky Stokes returns to coach VT basketball. Three coaches later, we make it back to the NCAA tournament in 2028.
