Or we did have a huge drought. ND was able to come back not just because of our defense but because the offense went into the tank. How many FGs did VT score in the last 10 minutes? So i agree with you but offense was a huge part of the problem as well. Just make a few more baskets and the ND comeback falls just short.

Quick aside: a team I was coaching was down by 14 points at half-time...the other team scored first in the second half to go up by 16. We came back and won. One of the starters who was horrible defensively didn't play much in the second half. While everyone was happy with the comeback, the dad passive aggressively asked about her not playing and said she can score. My response was when we were down 16, we needed stops. A bunch of people on the team can score (and they can play defense). So i hear you. It was really prescient when we were down. Yes, we needed to score but if we didn't get stops it didn't matter. The other team that had the lead needed to score. But because our defense stopped them from scoring, we were able to come back.
