I would argue it's the most versatile skill in college basketball and the hardest element of the game to defend. The fact that we clearly don't practice it at all drives me mad especially as teams have decided to 2-3 zone us and it stifles the entire offense not being able to make a high post shot.
A 12-15 jumper should be a make at least 60-65% of the time, which is higher than a contested layup as those shots are almost always open. Not to mention the added practice from that distance should improve free throw shooting, which for us is typically abysmal.
