What about expanding the NCAA Tournament so that every conference
receives an automatic bid for the regular season champion and conference tournament champion? If a conference happens to have a team that wins both, then the loser of the conference tournament championship game would receive the tournament automatic bid. It rewards a team for its performance during the regular season and still gives the remaining an opportunity to make the Tournament. Even though it may not completely eliminate the snub debate, it might reduce the controversy especially when the debate involves major conference vs. mid-major conference.
