Game has changed since 90s. And you’re cherry picking stats.

Sure, Top 20 backs have won 14 Super Bowls. But half of that 14 was Franco Harris and Emmitt Smith. So the remaining 18 won 7 SBs between them. And 11 of the top 21 (excluding Jim Brown who retired before Super Bowl era) didn’t even play on a Super Bowl winning team.

The list of RBs on Super Bowl winning teams this century is decidedly underwhelming. Marshawn Lynch and Jerome Bettis (with one each) are probably the best on that list - with Jamal Lewis (2000 as a rookie) as arguably the next most accomplished name on that list. And Bettis’ was 12 years ago.

Beyond that you’re looking at guys like Ray Rice or Lagarrett Blount. Decent backs, but not extraordinary. And lots of journeymen. Lots.

The two once (well, twice) in a generation backs of the last 20 years:

Adrian Petersen - Zip
LaDainian Tomlinson - Zip

Emmitt Smith and Marshall Faulk were once (again, twice) in a generation backs in the 90s and 00s but both won their Super Bowls in the 90s.

Other 21st century names:
Edjerrin James - ZIP
Curtis Martin - ZIP
Fred Taylor -ZIP
Steven Jackson - ZIP
Le’Veon Bell - ZIP

RB is arguably the least valuable position on the field in the NFL now - and has been getting progressively less so over the last 20 years. And the value of the stud RB has never been lower.
