You'd say there's no difference in Rank 5 vs Rank 100?

It's not a great ranking, but you can judge the relative quality of a team if broken into segments.

1-25 are some of the best teams in basketball. Every champion this decade has been in the Top 25 of the RPI.

25-75 are good teams. They are teams worthy of the tournament, though those at the bottom are toss ups.

76-150 are okay teams, but should probably go to the NIT.

The rest just aren't good teams.

Again, in this day in age, we should be using advanced metrics. But for what it is (very simpleton) the RPI does it's job.
