At that time the Princeton offense was difficult to prepare for (kinda like the triple option in football) because few teams were using elements of it and it requires players maintain discipline while on defense. Even though today more teams are using elements of the Princeton offense, it can still be challenging to prepare for if the players aren't willing to maintain discipline on defense.
