My original post was about the fact that TE was not a well-known quantity during the season. He wasn't the focal point of media attention or fan attention or awareness of VT's team. His stats were good, not great. In fact, I've often wondered if VT used TE as well as it could have.

The fact he has become a likely top 10 pick has been surprising, given he was never viewed as the bell cow of Tech's D (that was Walker and Settle, or DB U). The fact that people in college football recognized TE as an excellent player is a different point.
