I think there should be a supplemental draft


Just for high school players looking to turn pro. If you get drafted, that team owns your draft rights for 2 years, if you don't like your draft status/team (or you don't get drafted) you can still be eligible to play in college.

If the NBA changes to a quasi-baseball model and allows high schoolers or 2nd year players in college to enter the draft, it would fit perfectly within the 2 year draft rights model.

I would go as far as making any player who declared out of high school only eligible to play in the G-League their first year. In terms of an NBA product, it's no different than the current model (player enters NBA a year removed from high school), but it would also increase attendance and jersey sales for the G-League
