I can't find a picture of the new uniforms right this minute, but
the discussion on the podcast seemed to center on the stripe on the shoulder. Which stripe seemed a little weird to me, too, but also unique. But I'm thinking IIRC that stripe may have been like a Nike swoosh. Maybe I'm wrong and my short term memory is bad. Just saying, or suggesting that may have been the design concept.
Overall, I'm okay with the uniforms, even with the controversial "stripe." I just implore whoever makes decisions about uniforms to stay consistent to the three shown. No more black/orange Boise atrocities, or Hokie stone jerseys/helmets, or Battle at Bristol jokes. Those are NOT Hokie colors or true hokie uniforms. The three uniforms shown, whether you disagree with some design features or not, are at least orange, maroon, and white. That's Virginia Tech. Stick with it. And use metallic orange or maroon helmets. Those are excellent, especially for night games. White helmets are good, too, just keep the VT square root of 1 logo...THAT is our brand, not the Gobbler, not Stars and Stripes (patriot that I am, that brand belongs elsewhere), not anything else. I am proud of VT. Period. Don't f**k with the elephant.
