The '99 team was brilliant. But the team was also helped by playing in a Big East against less competitive foes. Tech also only need to run the table in the Big East. Today, its a battle against resurgent ACC foes, to play into an ACC Championship game to face Florida State or Clemson. Winning the ACC then perhaps results in making it to the four team college football playoff.

First things first for Tech. First we need to beat Miami and get into the ACC Championship game. But regardless, the Hokies are competing in a far more competitive environment then they were 20 years ago.
