They aren't charging for people to read fans' thoughts.

They are charging for a couple of reasons...

1: Content.
2: It's a way of giving their current subscribers more value for their money. It's about their community. Let the people who have a vested interest in the site talk to others who have a vested interest.

I assume you mostly mean 247? I know they got rid of their free board on VT scoop. Did they do away with the free boards on all the other 247 sites as well?
