The recruiting question for 2019 of what many people are seeing is the lack of potential commitments from top 15 players from Virginia in-state. Looking at 2012, 2013, 2015, (2016- 0 commitments from top 10 we all know why), 2017 & 2018, VT was able to get commitments of 3 to 5 of the top 10 prospects and 5-9 of the top 20. 2019 in-state recruiting so far looks disappointing and might compare to 2016. There are many financial reasons why a D1 football program should dominate their in-state recruiting.
