The university is boxed in by privacy laws...so it's just going to look like VT whitewashed the conduct mentioned in the unsubstantiated rumors since no one is able or willing to refute or clarify what's been out there for weeks.

I'm taking my football fan hat off and speaking as a VT degree holder here. Academic integrity matters... both in practice and in perception. The pearl clutching on the Sabre isn't really relevant, but this stuff did make the national news, after all...
