He did lie to the media


Whether that was intentional or not only he knows - don't know that that makes any difference - it's his job to know.

If it is only that, of course it does not require banishment from football.

But at some point something doesn't have to be illegal for you to realize that that person shouldn't be working for you - both from Meyer's perspective AND OSU's perspective. Just because you didn't technically violate any law doesn't mean you get to keep your job.
