I agreed that lying wasn't a reason to banish him from football.
and of course that isn't illegal - happens all the time in all areas of life - sometimes even does less harm than the truth.
My point was - at some level even things that are not illegal CAN be (and IMHO should be) enough to get you fired. We should expect more from a coach than continuing to employ someone with multiple reports of domestic abuse - even if he followed procedure and passed the buck - in fact even more so, because reporting it implies that he knew about it.
