Sorry, but the hurricane isn't hitting Blacksburg...

...so I think it's BS. They just don't want to play the game. People are citing that games in North Carolina have been cancelled. Please look at a map! Those games are many, many miles East of Southwest VA! And don't tell me you can't get from Blacksburg to Orlando in a week. You can do it in a day: even if it is the day after the hurricane hits the coast. If there is real impact on the I95 corridor, take the more inland interstates. It will add a couple of hours, but that's it.
They obviously want their athletes out of Greenville, but not in the already reserved hotel rooms in SW Virginia that would be a safe haven from the hurricane. It just isn't a safe haven from VT football team. I'm done with ECU. Don't play them anymore. Its to their benefit, not VT's.
I wouldn't reschedule the game, and I wouldn't play them again.
Note: if the game was in Greenville, I'd be totally on board with the decision. But I don't understand how they can't "ride out the storm" in Blacksburg (where there won't be a major storm) and then head to their next game. They are probably going to deal with worse effects from the storm in Florida than they would in Blacksburg. I'm actually shocked that people are so politically correct that they can't see the silliness of this decision. I see it as a breach of contract, though I wouldn't enforce the penalty. I'd just use it to cancel any future games.
