On 1st and goal from the 1.

I saw this a lot against WVU and it was frustrating. Of course when taking the snap 5 yards back and handing it off or QB run works, I don't complain as I figure it takes time for blocking to develop and we get a TD.
My guess is that it allows for a clean handoff with no defense shooting and disrupting the handoff/causing a fumble....and if there is a fumble we can fall on it at the 5.
I just cannot seem to get used to being on the 1 and seeing the qb take the snap on the 5.
