ODU's improbable win yesterday got me thinking about long field goal attempts...would it be legal for the defense to have a deep man try to "goaltend" a long field goal attempt by standing under the goalpost and swatting it away Dikembe Mutumbo style if it's barely going to clear the crossbar? It would be an incredibly difficult play to make but is physically possible, however unlikely it may be...but do the rules allow this?
