As a Packers fan, I disagree.

GB has handcuffed Rodgers in several ways. First, by allowing Ted Thompson to serve as GM way past his expiration date. Thompson consistently refused to sign any free agents and relied solely on a draft-and-develop approach. Problem was, his drafting skills declined over time. GB is only now starting to recover from TT's last few abysmal drafts and it will take 2-3 more years to fully restock the roster, unless current GM Gutekunst can pull some FA rabbits out of his hat next offseason.

Second, Mike McCarthy is one of the most stale, unoriginal coaches in the game today. His conservative and predictable approach has cost GB at least two more SB appearances during AR's tenure, most recently in the NFC championship a few years ago vs. Seattle. I would love to see Rodgers get to play for a coach with the creativity we've seen in the Pack's last two opponents, but unfortunately that's probably not going to happen unless the team totally tanks the rest of the year.
