I have been a season ticket holder and supporter for 49 years. I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly. Without doubt, this is the worst and most noncompetitive VT team that I can remember in those 49 years. There have been individual games during those years where the team did not perform well and the result was atrocious but I do not recall a season where the fan base felt that we could not win on any given Saturday. However that time has now arrived. It is time the coaches tell the truth and admit that we do not have the talent on defense to match up with other teams. Our defensive line is small compared to teams we play and things will not get any better until bigger, stronger and more talented d-line players are recruited. The offensive scheme and play calling also needs a total overhaul.
