To begin, I am not a Ryan Willis fan other than he is a Hokie

I am not a fan of his because unfortunately, but it is a fact, his college career is littered with losses. That is his stigma. To his credit his high school team was undefeated his senior year. But during his two years at Kansas the Jayhawks were 2-22. It was perhaps not fair that he was thrown in the fire as a freshman, and obviously his defense didn't support him. By his own admission the losses really bothered him, so he transferred to Virginia Tech, a proven winner. Except in 2018 when Willis got his chance to start, and he is 2-5 . Again his defense has not helped, but he has not scored more than 23 points in any of his 7 games. Yes, the lack of a running game has hurt, too. But you can excuse away all you want, he is still 4-27. Fact. And fair or not, that is an established losing record. JJax is 11-5 over a season and 3 games. People say JJax would not have faired better with the defense Bud has suffered with this year. Who knows? Personally I think #17 has displayed better leadership skills, and it has been his team when he started. Certainly the discombooberation caused by the ECU fiasco has affected Tech's season. God Bless Ryan Willis' heart, I think he is a good QB, but fate has not been kind to him. I would love a storyline that he closes the season with a 3 game winning streak to preserve the bowl streak. But at 4-27 the bookmakers will establish some serious long odds for that to happen.

That is why I am not a Willis fan. I wish for his sake he could go out a winner, but to be brutally honest I see nothing but a cloud over his head. JMHO. I'm sure a lot of Hokie fans will scalp me.
