They were dressed as away fans, so they deserved it. Right?
Never understood why certain cities (Philly, Pitt, Cleveland, NY, some of the California rivalries) turn a blind-eye to sports assault & intimidation.
They're all complicit -- the fans, the teams, the owners, the police. Wouldn't be *that* difficult to crack-down on this stuff, and yet it's been going on for decades. Some cities (ahem, Philly) are basically proud that opposing fans won't dare make the trip. As if they're protecting against a military invasion or something?
College has some bad venues, and some bad rivalries -- but overall, NFL takes the cake.
