I don't think Buzz likes short to mid range jumpers.

The metrics do not favor short to mid range jumpers. For example, close shots within 1 - 5 feet from the basket are successful 60% of the time, and include increased fouls, and it is a productive place to shoot from. Three point shots are successful 40% of the time, and adjusting for 3 points instead of 2 points, it is equivalent to 60% shooting. Short to mid range jumpers may be successful 45% of the time and with few fouls. Remember, most coaches say, "never foul the jump shooter."

Bottom line, close to basket shots yield 60% + more fouls. Short to mid range jumpers yield 45% with few fouls. Three point shots yield the equivalent of 60%. I think Buzz coaches to de-emphasise short to mid range jumpers.
