JJ as long as his leg is OK...


That’s CJF’s guy.

If JJ stayed healthy this year, we may have had the same record with a +/-1 win/loss variance. And if JJ didn’t get injured, RW would have only seen the field in the 2nd half of our games that got out of hand with CJF wanting to see what RW could do. It would have made RW look worse than what he is if JJ were still healthy.

That said, RW is a better athlete and passer than JJ, but he does gamble at times and can make poor decisions. JJ is slower, less nimble but a decent passer. However, JJ fits CJF’s profile as the guy that keeps the ball. When CJF was hired, he wanted starters that possessed the ball. Not that JJ doesn’t turn it over, but he seems more level headed. And, I’m sure JJ’s football coach Dad has CJF’s ear more and probably looks to JJ more as a field general.

That said, my vote is for RW to be our starting QB next year, but Fuente is too much like Beamer. It will be JJ.
