As fans, I think it is important to regularly visit our away venues

not only to support our team, but also to be able to appreciate what we have in facilities and game day support. Over the years, I've had a few beefs with facilities and support, but they have been extremely rare and always very minor. But to understand just how good we have it, we need to see how the other venues stack up. I'm always reminded of this when I go to some other stadium and see the worst of what's out there.

Navy Marine Corps Stadium is a great venue, but does not have the same level of logistical sophistication that we have at Lane.

To start with, the traffic access and egress is abysmal. There was woefully little traffic control and the access points were incredibly insufficient for a stadium of that size. Once inside the parking lots, you are directed to unpaved, muddy spaces in which several people got stuck. Granted the weather has been unusually wet, but there is no reason for that lot not to be paved, or at least adequately treated with packed gravel. Exiting the lot after the game was an equally impossible task.

Seating was pleasant and well marked, with pretty good sight lines, but the attendants and security were surly and inattentive.

The concessions area was cramped, not well organized, under staffed, had exorbitant pricing and sub-par fare.

The game announcer was bland and not particularly informative.

The restrooms were cramped and broken up into some weird maze-like configuration. Very odd arrangement.

Definitely not one of the worst places I've been, but certainly one of those that make me appreciate what we have at Lane Stadium!
