I’m not as familiar with “newer age” terms but it’s a lot like the 1/2 court man to man trap/help with midline principals I learned and taught when coaching HS.
Shell game in practice learn help & recover principles. Rules about being “1 pass or 2 passes away”. You can change rules as needed for not leaving a shooter but basically if ball is in corner or goes to post you trap, next closest defender splits closest two offensive players but shades to player nearest basket

Key is moving as ball is in the air on a pass. If ball is FT line extended, and your man is in opposite corner, you try to see ball and your man while being in the lane to step in for help. If ball is skipped to your man, you need to be able to see it and recover to your man from inside lane to outside
