Strong was done in by a bunch of boosters upset that about a black man


being the head coach. Strong had a fairly similar resume to Mack Brown 20 years earlier in many respects. Yet, Strong was "a good position coach... maybe even a coordinator... but no head coach".

And then he was fired in three years. Herman is benefitting a lot from the foundation Strong built.
