I understand the lure of bama and more $$$. I’m also not reflecting on any recent txfr chaos. I wonder though about the lateral move. Would VT just not be able to match the ala $$ offer? Is coaching at ala like moving from college to pros?

I would think that if VT could match the $$$ offer, that a coach would stay at a program where he is happy, well adjusted, has a potential opportunity for growth, and finally, stability.

Does having the chance to change to a program that challenges for the Natty every year outweigh stability? It’s definitely sink or swim there. Or are there some many 5*s already, that if one is pretty competent, that it would be hard to do poorly? Is it easier to get noticed for a future OC job?

Obviously I concern myself with these issues as I myself plan to begin my career as an upper lever P5 WR coach any day now.
