This 3-game stretch is the most important of the season in my opinion.
We’re sitting at 16-3 with a massively convincing win over Syracuse (Thanks, J-Rob), but the verdict is still out in my opinion regarding how good we really are. We win home games, and that’s great. But most teams win home games. All three of our losses have come on the road, and we beat an average-at-best Georgia Tech team at their place by 3 points. Simply put, we aren’t good on the road. We’ll find out quickly what this team is made of on Wednesday night at Miami. A win there would be huge for us, and I think gives us a buffer incase of a meltdown at #21 NC State, which, if the past few years tell us anything, is certainly possible. However, if we can win at Miami, (9-11, we SHOULD have the game under control), it might give us enough momentum to go into Raleigh and knock off a ranked NC State team that may very well be a Sweet-16 level team come March. IF, and that’s a big IF, we can get those two wins, we come on fire back to Blacksburg to #15 Louisville, who plays UNC just 2 days before us. I don’t expect us at all to beat Duke, and UVA even at Blacksburg worries me. That being said, this 3-game stretch might make or break our season. I’m feeling good about it though! Thoughts?
