Bama will sign top recruiting classes, and their castoffs/dregs will transfer out. Bama will hit the portal and pick and choose the top guys in the portal who have excelled at places like the MAC schools, and yes, P5 teams like VT.

VT will sign their usual recruiting classes, and some of VT's best players will transfer out to schools like Bama and Clemson. VT will also lose their castoffs/dregs. VT will hit the portal and pick up some good MAC players.

So, on the whole, Bama will get better and even deeper, while VT will probably just hold serve. (For example, the "trade" of Kumah for maybe that good Coastal Carolina OL is a push, at best.)

That's one way it might play out, and the rich get richer.
