I want to say this was a bad game; ugly maybe but not great

Hill was bad in the first 10 minutes of the game. Whether he drove or whatever he did, it was going to be a turnover.

The Hokies seemed to want to drive too much. That led to turnovers or discombobulated offense. It was just bad offense in the first 10 minutes especially because of forced stuff.

Bede and Robinson needed to stop trying to have a personal battle with Lykes. That led to Robinson getting hurt. Led to Bede turning the ball over.

Speaking of Bede, he is not that good. Sorry. If he is in and Robinson is out, let NAW be the primary ball-handler. Bede drags the offense to a halt. He turned the ball over dribbling right in front of the offense. Play for his defense but ....

Defensively, we were good but we over helped away early from the one Miami player that was hurting us - Lawrence. Then we gave up easy shots to Lykes late in the second half. You could see Hill be disgusted when he had to go way out to the right corner to contest a shot when there were others who should have.

Blackshear needs more than a fall away jumper off one foot.

I don't know this game felt so sluggish and inefficient offensively especially given the scouting report on Miami's defense But I think it was all the forcing things. Perhaps we thought because they were playing man-to-man alot, we had opportunities to drive. But not into crowds.

A win is a win. And give Miami credit for hanging around but when we were up by 21.... turnovers. By Bede. By NAW. Hill hitting those turnaround jumpers helped. Outlaw helped. And NAW was in control barring a possession or two. Good thing Robinson was not needed.
