any basic research of this injury: a viewing of the NCSU game, CTB's post game after NCSU, CTB's post game after Miami, or his ACC teleconference, all of those would indicate that whatever the severity of his injury, it was nowhere near the point of surgery. Basic research of back injuries would also reveal that surgery is almost always the last remedy with back injuries, and considered only after every other recourse is pursued.

Jerome may not play on Saturday. He may never play the same this season. He may play and make things worse. All of those are possibilities. The idea that he would have surgery scheduled a week after what was obviously not a serious injury...well there was zero chance that.

So it was not a gamble, it was nothing more than OXVT trolling the internet. Which is what he does. If you have followed this guy for as long as he has been trolling UVa - which dates back at least to the inception of these boards - you would know that he has a seriously unhealthy fixation with our school. It is kind of frightening.
