Well Shai is NAWs cousin...

He played at UK

Dillon Brooks played at Oregon on their Final 4 run

Age is a huge factor...theres a sweet spot for front office organizations. They want players young enough to develop them within their own system, but old enough to have played against good competition to reduce the risk of their evaluation being a bust.

High schoolers (when they were allowed) were a huge crap shoot. The re e was equal amount of Buzz for someone like Eddy Curry as there was for Kevin Garnett. Obviously one of those was a bust.

Where people on this (and other) message board take a misstep in logic is thinking that because someone might be a bust or wont contribute immediately it means they shouldnt leave. When the opposite is actually true. If youre actually a bust, but someone wants to spend a lottery pick on you, you absolutely go. Especially now, because the G-League has gotten to the point where it is a legit development tool for young players, where theyre playing against better competition they would see at any college.

With regards to NAW, its not as extreme as him being a bust but scouts like him. To me, he is probably the ~20th best player in the draft, but most scouts like him better plus he is at a position of need for most teams who are still trying to evolve to the new way of basketball.

I like DeAndre Hunter better than NAW at this point in their careers, but Hunter is really only a 2/3, but most likely just a 3. NAW can play and defend 3 positions, and versatility is the name of the game right now
