No doubt any 3 years surrounding the Vick years was the best ever but


as someone else mentioned, 2009-11 total offense ranking (The Tyrod Taylor years) were also decent (2009 - #49, 2010 #41, and 2011 #35) for an average ranking of 42. I'm not even including the Maurice Deshazo years which were pretty good offensively, but I don't have the records for that.

VT average the last 3 years was 44 under Cornelson. (2016 -#39, 2017-#53, 2018 #39). Had to correct some prior numbers that were wrong. So Corny isnt even ranked in the top 2 in terms of VT history, and probably not even top 3, in terms of 3 year periods, that on a school not known for offensive prowess. I'm not saying he can't get better, but these are his current stats.

Don't take my word for it. Here's a good reference which I found to be accurate and mirrors the NCAA databse. Play around with the years listed and calculate it yourself.
