I wonder when someone will tell Buzz that conserving timeouts does not...

equal NET points. I love Buzz and this team did pretty well closing out the game with free throws, but at the end of the game, we nearly Loserville'd it away. When your team cannot inbound the ball, or they get trapped and are forced to make a bad pass, you've got to take a timeout. Especially when you have two of them with 1:30 left in the game. And the same needs to reiterated to our players. *It's easier for me to say this sitting on the couch, but you need to know how many timeouts you have, when you're feeling a trap coming or when you're going to have to force something, and how to clearly take the timeout. It's simple game management that I'm honestly surprised our team (and other teams across the nation) doesn't possess.*

Another thing that needs to be addressed is the fact that even Justin Robinson struggles with this. This team is so fun to watch and I'm grateful to have such a talented team, but players like Justin, NAW, and Kerry have no clue how to manage time. Kabongo showed why he was still a freshman by driving the lane and indirectly causing Kerry to foul. That one I can let go since he doesn't get much playing time and saw an open hole to the lane.

But the uncomfortable passing and decision making by our older players concerns me about coaching. Do our coaches spend time talking about how to slow the pace and prevent yourself from panicking? We had those panic moments that could've easily been avoided with some simple head-keeping tactics. You hate to say it, but the intensity of the fans gets under our players' skin. And it shows very badly.

Regardless, glad to come out of Pitt with a win. That's win #20! And the flashes of brilliance from Bede and Kabongo made me smile. Especially Bede's block to seal it...
