Those who recall watching the ACC tournament during the era of nine teams will remember that initially the ACC had the 8-9 game Thursday night and would then have the winner play the 1 seed on Friday afternoon. Not surprisingly, this never resulted in any drama for the #1 seed on Friday afternoon.
