The adjusted efficiency stats are good for comparing teams who play different styles with different players. But from a possession by possession standpoint, VT got way worse defensively. I've posted the statistics many times and I'll be putting it into an article soon, but what VT did after the injury was slow the game way down to minimize the effect of being inefficient, which they certainly were/are.
