I will always appreciate what Buzz Williams did for our program. All of us should be happy for him and his family. I believe most of us this came as no surprise. I'm just glad he made us very relevant in a short amount of time and left us with a more prosperous brand. He showed that you can compete at VT with the big dogs. He represented the university very well and was truly a wonderful person. That is why it is hard seeing him go. But, just like a child growing up it is just something you gotta roll with.
Now, the unfortunate is I can see this being a huge set-back. Unless Whitt can get the right person here to keep the ship afloat. I would not be surprised if Buzz doesn't take Nolley and a couple of our 19* commits with him. I also would not be surprised if Kerry Blackshear isn't wearing another Maroon uniform as well. Whitt is going to have to knock this next hire out of the park. I just hope that whomever he does hire wants to retire a hokie. Have a feeling that person is already lined up. I would bet Whitt has been working on that a lot longer than most people would think.
