When Virginia Tech has five national championships, 16 final four appearances, and is top 5 in all time wins in the history of NCAA basketball, then yes, we can get away with playing in an antiquated arena that is the worst facility in our league.

Until we get to that point, we need a modern basketball facility to attract recruits (and fans), just like every one of our peer institutions not named Duke or UNC. From a facility standpoint, we aren't even up to par with the A10 and CAA schools in our state.
