Reading over this board the last couple of days, I'd just like to say

y'all are a classy bunch, and I am not being sarcastic or facetious at all. I can remember when I watched Michael Vick take y'all to the national championship game against FSU way back when, and the schadenfreude was strong with me that day (I was young, but that's also a bit of a character flaw with me anyway)! We're hot-blooded rivals, so I definitely get it. The competitive vein runs deep, no doubt. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy as heck to finally "get to the mountaintop" so to speak, it's the ultimate cathartic release after years and decades of various forms of fan-related heartache! But, I had a lot of fun watching both of our teams and programs rise to prominence and battle it out in recent years, culminating in a top-10 matchup between two (ultimately) Sweet-16 bound teams, regardless of any particular game outcome. Buzz rekindled a fire in the fanbase and the program that has the potential to be stoked by a very good up-and-coming coach in Mike Young.

Now, it would easy for me to be an ostensible 'good sport' and offer seemingly hollow words of encouragement, in passive aggressive one-upmanship. That is pretty much the opposite of what I intend this post to be, though, or how I actually feel. I have a lot of respect for your program, and seeing a lot of the classy posts on here (while accepting the frustration from other posters), just resonated with me and I felt obliged to wish you all the best of luck with your new coaching hire. I was one of the few UVA posters to come on here and do the same when you all hired Buzz, and predicted that you all would have a huge upgrade in talent and results with his coaching acumen in Blacksburg. Now, I'm less familiar with Coach Young, but he's a Tech guy through and through, and that in itself is a huge plus for longevity of tenure and the prospect of continued success under a single coach.

Oh, and while the championship is of course amazing, and it's something I'll certainly remember for the rest of my life, I also have to remember Chaminade and UMBC in basketball (the two worst losses in the entire history of NCAA basketball!!!), and "The Streak" in football. In short, sports is weird. I hope you all get as much enjoyment out of watching your Hokies as I do my Cavs, and would LOVE to see the balance of power shift from Tobacco Road to the Commonwealth one day. Who knows, Roy and K can't coach forever...
