the issue is that he has been at the same small school for over 20 years. No one can find a precedent of a Power conference hiring someone with that background- at least not in succeeding. hopefully CMY and VT will make history. There are plenty examples of great coaches beginning at small schools. But they usually take incremental steps along the way. This is different.
