Watching Dax, Ladler, Ashby, Garbut, Belmar and Rivers develop. They all missed tackles and made their share of mistakes, but showed me little glimmers of hope during certain possessions as the season moved ahead. I think that defense was incredibly young (even with some of the juniors who were playing real minutes for their first time) and were simply confused and not ready for big boy football yet. But I have a feeling they’ve learned a lot from last year and I’m sure Bud doesn’t want a repeat of last year. Maybe Bud’s defense uses 2018 as their motivation to turn a 180 this year. Still not the most talented bunch I’ve seen at Tech, but I have a strange feeling they’ll be much better in 2019.
