Buzz didn't leave the program in bad shape

How often does a first year coach take over a loaded team? Hardly ever. It's usually only when an assistant gets promoted to head coach for a retiring legend or a coach leaves the cupboard full because he is leaving to take over a blue blood coaching vacancy that probably won't open up again for another 15 years.

Buzz showed the nation that you can win at Virginia Tech. I don't know what our next coaching era will look like, but I know VT just went through one of the best periods in school history.

There's probably a student or young alum that got pretty excited about these last three years of basketball and will donate in the future. There are also probably kids in VA that cheered for the Hokies in the NCAAs and will now give them a look when they're being recruited four years from now.

I expect we will have a rough year next year, but I also think Buzz helped position this program to have its best years ahead of it.
