I was at the grocery store this weekend, had on my VT hat, and a man walks up to me and says "Go Hokies!" we started talking about VT sports and of course basketball came up. He introduced himself as Dick Culpepper,a "61 grad of VT engineering.He told me his son Chuck, a UVA grad is a sports reporter for the Washington Post. He said Chuck has been covering the SoCon for years and has covered the Wofford program extensively. He went on to tell me that his son told him that when VT hired Mike Young, that we hit a home run. Said his son has known MY for years and and just kept going on and on about how good a coach and person he was. Keep in mind that this was a conversation between a father and son not something that was written for an article. I think we got a good one. It' a shame that Buzz left us high and dry as far as players, but according to Mr. Culpepper, MY will bring in quality players and we will be just fine.
