I don't think Young knew he had any chance of being the VT coach until Whit
contacted him.
I think Buzz knew it was, at the very least, highly likely he would be the Texas A&M head coach months before the season was over. He might even have known it for certain.
The question is... while he was STILL employed at VT, did Buzz act 100% in the interests of VT. Did he try to sell recruits on Blacksburg and VT, or did he let them know that they were likely to have an invitation to College Station in the future? Of course we'll never know what he said to recruits behind closed doors. Especially on official visits, which are paid for by the VT athletic department.
