Fans remember what you've done lately more than what you did in the past - just look at how some posters ridicule Beamer constantly for the last few years of his HOF legacy. I still think Torrian Grey (sp?) would be a good one and would be welcomed here. This is a chance to rebuild the VT legacy as a defensive team, but Fu will likely spend the added money on the offense instead. That would not surprise me, as defensive teams in college football are now back-bench to high scoring offenses, and obviously Fu couldn't give a rat's butt about defense, as we've seen in his three years as HC, as the defense went from pretty good to less than dismal.
