So who is the most likely backup QB for 2019?

Let's face it, given what we have heard and the spring game, Willis most likely will be the starter for 2019. At least while he is winning games. There was some unverified buzz that Hooker came back because he was told he had a chance, inferring that Patterson was not impressing in the passing game. This was evident in the spring game as well as how he used more as a battering ram and indicating how he might be used next year. Patterson has a lot of work to do before he is even considered for the back up let alone the keys to the kingdom. IF Hooker steps up this summer it will get interesting in the battle for the #2 spot at QB for 2019 giving the winner the advantage in the race to start in 2020 when Willis is done. But in 2020, they have to watch out for Burmeister and possibley Kadum. Burmeister has significant starting experience at Power 5 Oregon. There is some chatter that Kadum might be better than we think and possibly #2 in 2020 if Hooker and Patterson don't improve much. Boy if we could get a composite QB with Willis arm, Hookers wiggle and speed, and Patterson's brute force, we would be in great shape as would anybody. Not sure a QB like that exists. Would like to see Patterson and Hooker be the top 2 for 2020 given time in the system but is has not been trending that way for both lately. We will see. Fu's tenure is depending on an improved 2019 and an much better 2020.
