Completely disagree.
Each kid is different and will weigh a bunch of factors differently, including:
1. Storied tradition
2. Chances to win NOW/compete for championships
3. Playing time
4. Program puts players in the league
5. Scheme fit
6. Game day of experience/fan base
7. Academic match
8. Academic support
9. Facilities/locker rooms
10. Proximity to family/friends
11. Program culture/chemistry/personal fit
12. Attraction to/relationship with recruiter and/or position coach
13. Town/community
I’m sure there are more things I haven’t considered. Kids are unique and make decisions based upon how all of these things come together. I mean, think about how Eddie “butter pants” Whitley made his decision.
