Ehhhhhhhhhhh... Gray had a LOT of freedom under Beamer

And, with a new boss, Fuente wanted control (and if we can all remember back to that time our recruiting was a poop show so control was incredibly warranted) and I think Gray wanted to retain his freedom since Bud was being retained.

Trying insinuate that Fuente is in the wrong here is incredibly incorrect. I mean, it's not like Gray was THAT good of a recruiter. His top guys were great but rarely did we ever have depth at CB under his watch. We lost a lot of guys to transfer because he failed in his evaluations. Donaldven Manning, Davion Tookes, Boye Aromire, Michael Cole, and Detrick Bonner were all guys that didn't really pan out. Bonner took forever to develop and the rest didn't finish their careers at VT.

I love Gray and I wish he and Fuente could kiss and make up. But, I'm not taking his side in this from what I know.

And, to be honest, offered Clay Dean was the wrong decision all-around. Package deals can be good but you were wasting a scholarship for something that was far from a sure thing.
